Dr. Louis Setiey is one of the founding members of the Artro Group.
He studied at the Faculty of Medicine of Lyon under the tutelage of Pr. Georges de Mourgues, one of the French pioneers in hip arthroplasty.
He further studied with Pr. Me Müller, in Switzerland.
Dr. Setiey created his private orthopaedic practice in the Beaujolais clinic in 1977 and his activities concentrated on hip and knee surgery.
He was a member of the Jade Group that designed a total knee prosthesis.
With the Artro Group, in 1982, he participated in the conception of a total knee prosthesis.
With the Artro Group, in 1982, he participated in the conception of the Titan prosthesis, a cemented hip prosthesis, followed in 1986 by the Corail stem, cementless, that developed in the global Corail hip system. During many years, courses and trainings on this device have taken place in Dr. Setiey’s clinic.
Dr. Setiey still actively participates in the “Corail Learning Centre” in Annecy.
